Ayn creatively assists clients in embracing their true leadership capabilities as the owner of Creative Expressions. Ayn became a Coach & Consultant after a long and successful career as a learning and development leader and entrepreneur.
After spending over a dozen years creating online learning and onground education and training for a variety of companies, Ayn pursued a doctorate of management in organizational leadership from the University of Phoenix Online. Upon completion of the degree, Ayn joined a large local healthcare system as Director of Leader Development, responsible for the knowledge acquisition and skill development of a population of 1,200 leaders.
During her tenure, Ayn updated and defined the leader competencies upon which the organization’s HR systems were based and created a more integrated human resources function based on leader competencies, an organizational strategic initiative. She revised the leader development curriculum and added classes to the curriculum to support the revised leader competencies, instituted a coaching environment within the leader population and started an internal coaching certification program, instigated dialog among leaders around behavioral terminology for performance coaching, created an online 360 assessment based on the organization’s leader competencies, and reworked the curriculum of the organization’s high potential leader institute. The result of the leader institute changes was a significant increase of the level of project recommendations that were the product of the intensive 4-month program. With the help of the institute staff (partners from the University of Memphis), Ayn was able to assign a viable ROI (Return on Investment) to this primarily ‘soft skill’ leader development program.
Focusing on the tasks she loved most while developing leaders, Ayn joined a group of “evangelists for the entrepreneurial spirit” – a local marketing strategy company as part of a team of interdisciplinary independent contractors. Ayn has had the opportunity to coach a variety of professionals from different industries in a variety of roles, conduct focus groups and field research, and do extensive social science research for major consumer product manufacturers. She is certified in strategic planning and a variety of national training systems.
Ayn started her career in corporate America with fourteen years of hands-on managerial experience in the regional marketing area office of a Fortune 500 company. Her background includes experience in advertising, marketing, public relations, consumer affairs, human learning, organizational development, and leadership development. During her career, Ayn has orchestrated three start-up operations: a highly successful state-wide micro-marketing program for a nationally known retail firm, the creation of a public relations and consumer affairs department which included instituting a regional 800 consumer comment line for a five state area, and the creation of a professional sales academy for a nationally known manufacturing organization headquartered in Memphis, TN. She also was the project lead on a multimillion dollar cutting edge online simulation training project for the customer service department of an international Fortune 100 express services company.
A longtime member, Ayn was the 1996 president of the American Society for Training and Development (now ATD) – Memphis Chapter, is a Toastmasters International CTM, has been active as a volunteer for various local non-profit organizations for many years, served on the Board of the Memphis Food Bank, as well as being a featured presenter for various groups locally and nationally including the United States Postal Service Southeastern Region and the ATD National Office.
